Also known as Gerosappa Falls or the Joga Falls, these falls are one of the most important attractions in all of South India. Second, only to the Nohkalikai Falls of Meghalaya, Jog falls drops about a huge 253 m (850 ft) in a single fall. However, due to the construction of Linganamakki Dam, the flow in the falls is hugely restricted before monsoons.

  • Jog falls is also known as Gerusoppaa Falls, is the highest untiered waterfalls in India as it drops directly and does not stream on to the rocks.

● Trekking to the top is rocky and slippery. Don't go to the top. They have not even put support for walking there.

  • Dispose all empty bottles, tins, plastic bags etc only in dustbins.
  • Do not use detergent, in streams or springs while washing and bathing.
  • Do not leave cigarettes butts or make open fires in the forests. 
  • Do not blare music aloud while passing through the forest areas.
