The District Archaeological Museum was established in 2004 and located in Saraswathi Nagar, Dargametta, Nellore Town of P.S.R. Nellore District. At the entrance gallery, the dioramas of pre and protohistoric man representing the daily lifeways, including the manufacture of tool-kits, agriculture, burial practices etc., are shown. In the right side gallery the Coins, the Epigraphy, Terracotta figurines etc., are displayed in the showcases.

In the middle gallery Arms & Weapons consisting of swords, daggers bow and arrows and cannon are displayed. In the left side gallery the Bronzes, Porcelain, Celadon, Chinese Wares are displayed. In the center of the building in the open area, the stone sculptures and Architectural members dated from Satavahana (2nd century B.C.) to the Post Vijayanagara periods (17th century A.D.) are on pedestals. The dioramas of prehistoric man and the arms and weapons gallery are the main attractions to the children.
