Tringalwadi, Nashik, Maharashtra, India
Tringalwadi Fort is one of the main attractions of Igatpuri and is an easy and pleasant trek. From the base village the Trek is consistent walk for about 1-2 Hrs to reach the top. Trekking starts through colourful fields of sesame, bajara, wheat and sunflowers. After going further are the Pandav Leni caves that are divided into three parts which are ‘Verandah’ the outer part ‘Vihar’ the abbey and ‘Gaarbhagirha’ the internal part. The Vihar has a statue of Gautam Buddha and the structure of the caves makes it evident that they were built somewhere in the 10th century.
The top of this fort has an enthralling view of Kalsubai mountain ranges and the Kulang fort. The top view of this fort is like a turban, which makes it unique in its own way. The fort may have a number of entrances, however the two known ones are the Chor Darwaja and the Konkan Darwaja. There are a few water tanks, which are not filled much and also a Shiva temple with a Trishul.
