SAHASTRAKUND WATERFALL

Sahastrakund Waterfall is an amazing waterfall on the Penganga River, a tributary to Godavari River at Murli village. The water falls can be visited throughout the year, though monsoon is the best season. The water drops from a height of 50 feet to form the breathtaking waterfalls. The rock pattern in surroundings of the falls is also interesting, as the black rock appears like a metal. The water force is quite high during monsoons and not advised to get into the water. There are two temples near the falls on both sides of the river. A long ramp was constructed to have good views of the waterfalls. There is a watch tower nearby that gives breathtaking views of the waterfall. The ideal time to visit the waterfall is during monsoon. The breathtaking views of the waterfall attract many visitors during peak rains. The view of the waterfall is wonderful from the other side of the river. There is a bridge across the river little further away from the falls (one km). Sometimes the road to the bridge becomes inaccessible for four wheelers, but it can be walked down (20 mins one way).

● The rocks are sharp and slippery and tourists have to be very careful while getting into the water.

- Dispose all empty bottles, tins, plastic bags etc only in dustbins.
- Do not use detergent, in streams or springs while washing and bathing.
- Do not leave cigarettes butts or make open fires in the forests.
- Do not blare music aloud while passing through the forest areas.
