Architecture

Seetha Rama Swamy Temple was constructed in Kakatiya style of architecture. Dichpally Ramalayam is one of the finest examples of stone architecture. This temple was built in white and black basalt stone. The temple is small and does not have the usual grandeur of South Indian temples.

Temple Walls :

  • The excellent and awe-inspiring sculptures engraved on the Temple walls transform this place from a mere religious site to an architectural marvel.
  • There are several carvings of exotic scenes from Kamasutra on the upper side of outer walls.

History

Seetha Rama Swamy Temple was built in 14th Century by Nizamabadhoor Khajuraho and renovated in 1949. Kakatiya kings are the contributors for this temple. The temple received its first idol of Lord Rama and his consort Sita, his brother Lakshmana and Hanuman in 1949. This was gifted to the temple by Gajawada Chinnaiah Gupta, a local devotee of the village.
