Architecture

Hattiangadi was also known as Goshtipura meaning the place of debates. The drive to Hattiyangadi is mesmerizing with greenery all around. Varahi River flows nearby to join the Arabian sea. On the banks of the river is a place known as Aramane Adi where a palace stood in the glorious past. The entire garbhagudi is carved from black marble. The hall is constructed from granite and white marble. On the top floor are the Pravachana Mandir and Sabhagriha. There are also beautifully carved 32 Lord Ganesha idols installed in the temple premises. One can see the Lord in various styles. Just outside the temple on its rear side is yagnashal of the temple and it can be seen in the above image. The Idol grows in size every year and this is visible from the fact that it has outgrown the silver casting.

History
