Religious Significance

Parashurama and his father in Treta Yuga went to the Kailash mountain to do hard penance of Lord Shiva. Due to his severe penance, Lord Shiva asked them to ask for a boon. On this, both these devotees asked him to go with him and demanded that you always be with us. After this, Lord Shiva gave one Shivlinga as a gift to both father and son. When both father and son left for their ashram Renuka in Agrawan (Renukadham's past is mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavat Geeta), they stopped for a night's rest 4 km before the ashram. Every day at the first bell in the morning, like to go for routine work. After this, the Jyotirlingas came to worship, the twin Jyotirlinga settled there at the root of the earth. Both of these Shivalingas tried to lift them a lot, but at the same time Akashvani said that it will now be considered Kailash Dham. Since then, this religious place has been named Kailash.
