Architecture
The temple has a Vivid architectural details all over the establishment, from the entry gates to the shrine where the Goddess resides. Upon reaching the temple, one can see the meticulous work done by the craftsmen and small idols of different incarnations of the Goddess all over the entrance. More designs of mermaid like creatures can also be found on the front gate is symmetry to both the sides. The sanctum wherein the deity Maa Pataneshwari is established lies inside in a circular design.
History
Maa Pataneshwari Temple was built in the late 16th century A.D. by the first Chauhan Ruler of Sambalpur, Balaram Dev.
