Architecture

The Mukti Dwaraka Temple, or Veraval, is otherwise called Somnath and Prabhas Theertham. It is situated on the western coast in Gujarat and the last rail head in this course.  It is imperative since it was from this place Lord Sri Krishna vanished and climbed to Srivaikuntam according to the solicitation of the devas. This "Prabhasa Kshetram" is additionally called " Banka Theertham".

Dehotsarg - Krishna, reclining under a pipal tree was shot in the foot by a Bhil huntsman named Jara who had mistaken him for a deer. Limping a long way eastward, Shri Krishna reached the bank of the river Hiranya just above the triveni sangam, and breathed his last in a small cave. His body was taken to the triveni sangam and cremated there. The site where he was shot is known as Bhalka Tirtha, and the site of his cremation, near a temple to Maha Kali, is called Dehotsarg. The term ‘Dehotsarg’ means ‘leaving the body’. Lord Krishna took his journey to Nija Dham [permanent abode] from Dehotsarg Teerth leaving behind his mortal body, hence is also called as Golak Dham Teerth or Shri Krishna Nija Dham Tirth. Ahir community women of this area wear black even to this day symbolizing mourning at his death. Dehotsarg is located on the bank of river Hiran which is about 1½ km from Somnath Temple. Krishna's footprint in marble is made at this place and named as "Golok Dham". The place is in an open area and very peaceful. The tranquil water of river Hiran and trees make the place very lovely.

Religious Significance

Legend per the Mahabharata, the Kurukshetra war brought about the demise of all the hundred children of Gandhari. On the night prior to Duryodhana's demise, Lord Krishna went to Gandhari to offer his sympathies. Gandhari felt that Krishna intentionally did not put a conclusion to the war, and in an attack of fury and distress, Gandhari reviled that Krishna, alongside other people from the Yadu line, would die following 36 years. Krishna himself knew and needed this to happen as he felt that the Yadavas had turned out to be extremely haughty and egotistical (adharmi), so he finished Gandhari's discourse by saying "tathastu" (so be it). Following 36 years passed, a battle broke out between the Yadavas, at a celebration, who slaughtered each other. His senior sibling, Balarama, then surrendered his body using Yoga. Krishna resigned into the backwoods and began contemplating under a tree. The Mahabharata additionally portrays the narrative of a seeker who turns into an instrument for Krishna's takeoff from the world. The seeker Jara, mixed up Krishna's halfway noticeable left foot for that of a deer, and shot a bolt, injuring him mortally. After he understood the oversight, While as yet dying, Krishna told Jara, "O Jara, you were Bali in your past birth, executed without anyone else as Rama in Tretayuga. Here you had an opportunity to even it and since all demonstrations in this world are done as coveted by me, you require not stress for this". At that point Krishna, with his physical body rose back to his unceasing house, vrindavan and this occasion marks flight of Krishna from the earth. In the midst of recitation of Purusha Suktam by Brahma, Shiva and different devas and rishis and offering precipitation of blossoms, Krishna ventured into an elevated auto to rise to Vaikuntam. Next second, the Lord alongside his chariot vanished and took jyoti structure.
