Khandoba Mandir is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Lord Khandoba. Lord Khandoba's idol is surrounded on either side by idols of his two wives.

  • Shorts, mini-skirts, middies, sleeveless tops, low-waist jeans and short-length T-shirts are not allowed.

Architecture

Khandoba Temple has an entrance arch with Golden color and has an mandapams. This temple is carved with some sculptures and grabha gudi is placed beside the pillar mandapam.

Religious Significance

It is believed that Sai Baba came to Shirdi for a second time with a marriage party and set his foot under a Banyan tree. The priest named Mhalsapati first spotted the homeless fakir and welcomed him to Shirdi by saying 'Aao Sai' meaning 'Welcome Sai' in Marathi.

History

This temple is 500 years old built by Upasani Maharaj and renovated in 1920.
