Architecture

Here Ambe Mata had worshiped and meditated for 100 years, at the end of each month only had a vegetarian meal. During this time, the Saints and Sages who came for their worship (Darshan) were welcomed and awarded vegetarian food. For this reason, the temple was given the name of Shakambari Devi Temple.

The temple is facing in East direction. Temple was constructed in North indian style of architecture with shikaras and domes.

Religious Significance

According to legend, once the demons of the inaccessible name worshiped Lord Brahma Ji. Pleased with the adoration of the inaccessible, Brahma Ji gave him a boon that he would not defeat any god in war and gave four Vedas and Puranas also. Inaccessible after receiving boon, he started torturing and made the gods like Indra, Varuna, etc. Through which the rain did not rain on Earth for many years and people forgot religion karma on earth. Brahmins also started consuming alcohol and meat. Then Ambe Mata took the Avatar and Mother began to excite her as she started flowing water in rivers. Ambe Mata created greens and vegetables. Thereby, the religion again came to Earth on the verge of religion. Ambe Mata killed the dreaded monster and took away the four Vedas and Puranas. In this way, the mother's name was Shakumbari due to the welfare of the world through greens and vegetables (vegetarian food).

History

This temple is believed to have been Renovations during the rule of the Marathas.But this temple was built before the Maratha period. Some scholars consider it a temple of the Mahabharat time.
