Architecture
Somnath Temple shrine is famous for its shilpart and its rich history. Somnath temple has intricate carvings on the Shikar and pinnacle of the temple. The temple is made out of sandstone and this temple is an ancient temple which was constructed 1000 years ago and stands as the symbol of ancient architecture.
History
Temple shrine was constructed by the King of Gujarat Kumarpal Solanki in the Vikram Samvat 1209. Raj Kumar Pal Solanki brought this Shiva Linga from the Saurashtra region in Gujarat. According to history, Mughal King and Mahmud of Ghazni attacked this temple many times.
