Yoga Narasimha Swamy is the main deity of this temple, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Here Lord is facing in West direction and measures one feet in height. Lord holding the Chakra in his upper right hand and Sankha in his upper left hand, his lower left hand is shown resting on his left knee & his lower right hand however is not visible. The deity is installed by Sage Bharadwaj.
Sri Rajyalakshmi Thaayar and Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Thaayar are the consorts of Lord Vishnu, who is an incarnation of Goddess Sreedevi and Bhoodevi.

Architecture
Temple has a 3 tier Rajagopuram and a Dhwaja Stambham is placed infront of the temple. The temple has a Mukha mantapam it's huge measuring 24 feet x 45 feet and the hall comprises 21 pillars holding up a cement roof. A similar hall, though smaller is also present above the north door comprising 5 pillars.
Religious Significance
Sage Bharadwaj and his disciples were worshipping Narasimha in the cave then Years passed. Sage Bharadwaja told the disciples that Lord would appear when sins and injustice become the rule of life. Lord appeared in the dream of one Sri Anumala Machi Reddy the king of Thangoda and told him of his presence in the Mattapalli cave and ordered to perform pujas to Him. The king immediately ordered his men to find out the cave. They did their best but could not tired and frustrated, the king fell asleep in the jungle. Lord again appeared in his dream and said that he had almost zero lighting on him and the cave was covered by plants and bushes. The king was happy to discover Lord in the cave. He installed Him there and constructed a convenient pathway to enable devotees to worship him.

This temple was built in 13th century by King Machi Reddy and Mogul Kings are the contributors.
