Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy is the main deity of this temple. The Idol sees South with his face directed towards East so he is also known as Poorvabhimukhi. The Lord looks as if he is ready to rescue and that is evident by his “Abhayahasta”. He wears “Kaupeena”. On his left hand, his Abhayahasta is placed firmly on his waist. In his right hand he has a club that he uses to simultaneously crush various Idols that are evil spirits. The Lord is projected in an inimitable style and measures 10 feet in height.

Architecture
As Anjaneya Swamy sees his devotees with his right eye, this place got its name as "Nettikanti". Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple is facing in East direction. This temple has 5 tier Rajagopuram and Dwaja stambham is placed inside the Gopuram.
Religious Significance
During the rule of Sri Krishna Devaraya, Emperor of Vijayanagaram Kingdom, his Guru Sri Vyasarayaluvaru went travelling to get religious austerities. On his tour he stayed at “Silpagiri” village (Presently known as “Chippagiri”). Lord Sri Anjaneya Swamy came before Sri Vyasaraya in his dream. He advised him to reinstall his idol at the same spot where the withered Margosa (Neem) tree would have fresh new leaves when he touches the tree. Accordingly, Sri Vyasarayalu Varu reinstalled or made prathista the idol of Sri Anjaneya Swamy (Swayambhu) in Nettikallu at the spot where he saw the withered Margosa tree that had emerged as a live tree. The newly reinstalled deity was named “Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy”. Thus, Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temle, Kasapuram temple was made.
History
Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple was built in 1509-1530 A.D. by Sri Vyasarayaluvaru was reinstalled the temple. Sree Vyasaraya installed at different places 732 idols of Lord Anjaneya. Sree Vyasaraya achieved mukti in the year 1539 A.D. Vijayanagara kings are the contributors for this temple.
