Architecture

Sri Uma Maheshwara Temple is facing in East direction and constructed in Kadamba style of architecture. The amphitheatre is conveniently open from three sides East, North and South directions and 45 feet single stone structure of dhwajasthambha. The pillars and wooden beams on the roof are beautifully sculpted, the outer walls of the temple are decorated with intricate sculptures of human figures, gods and goddesses. During the excavation, some stone inscriptions and ruins of temples dating back 900 A.D. were found. Temple is built with green chlorite stone.
