Architecture

Jamalapuram Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple has a 5 tier Gopuram, Dhwaja Stambham is placed inside the gopuram. Temple has a Pongali Mandapam and koneru is known as Pedda Cheruvu.

Religious Significance

According to a legend, Jabali Maharshi was the guru of Dasradhara Maharaja's palace. He has the most love on lord Srirama. When Srirama moved to the jungle with his wife and brother for Aranyavasam, Jabali Maharshi tried to bring them back with love on Rama. With the firm determination to rule his father's command Srirama rejected maharishi's propasal. Later Jabali Maharishi returned to Ayodhya and told his disciples that he had to come to this temple and performed penance.

History

Jamalapuram Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple is built in 850 years old and renovated by Sri Krishnadevaraya. Kakatiya's & Vijayanagara Kings are the contributors of this temple. Kakatiya ruler Prataparudra and Vijayanagara emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya visited this temple.
