Architecture

Lakshmi Narayana Temple Gopuram is very moderate in height and built in Jain style of architecture. The pillars inside the temple are extensive carved with beautiful sculptures and The outer walls of the temple and the vimana over the sanctum exhibit wonderful piece of art work. The temple has several stone inscriptions depicting the history of the temple along with slokas inscribed on it. The temple is built with Black Stone.

History

This temple is built in 11th to 13th centuries by Rajas of the Pallava Dynasty. The temple is renowned for its Prakrit stone which is inscribed with 20 slokas that suggests that the temple was built under Pallava chief. Pallavas are contributed for this temple.
