SWARAJ BHAVAN MUSEUM

The Swaraj Bhavan also known as by the name Annand Bhavan is a mansion locate in Allahabad. The Bhavan was owned by the Indian Political leader Motilal Nehru in the 19th century. The mansion has served the ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family to the future prime minister of Indira Gandhi who was born here. The house was a supportive pillar for Motilal Nehru as it was then he began to modify the plan work to fight against the British for Independence.
The Swaraj Bhavan captures their lifestyle which was closely related to freedom struggle and life thereafter. The Bhavan equites many unique furniture and also a place of huge collection of books and memorabilia. Displays of will and testament of Jawaharlal Nehru is scaled on a huge board. There are also specific galleries displaying the pictures of Nehru family. The place also featured a secret underground room as a meeting place for the leaders during freedom movement.
