For Archaeology lovers, Victoria Museum located on the Bandar road is a must visit tourist spot in Vijayawada. Also known as Victoria Jubilee Museum, this museum of the Archaeological Department was built in 1887 to honour the Golden jubilee coronation of Queen Victoria. It is also the place where Congress Party held a meeting in 1921 to decide the party’s flag. Mahatma Gandhi added a wheel to the tricolor flag which became the Indian National Congress’s official flag.

- Victoria Museum is known to conserve huge collections of ancient sculptures, inscriptions, idols, paintings, cutlery and weapons.
- Victoria Museum also contains prehistoric stone tools, arms, gold and silver coins, pottery, manuscripts, Neolithic and Microlithic implements.
- The granite statue of Buddha and the white limestone figure of Buddha in standing position brought from Alluru are major attractions here.
- An example of sculptural excellence, the museum also contains an idol of Lord Shiva, dating back to 4th-5th century. This idol is another prime attraction of the museum.
