Architecture
The Mahalakshmi Temple, Jhansi exquisitely crafted and is a pilgrimage venue during the Laxmi Puja and Diwali. The temple is a series of stone minarets and intricate carvings set into a three story mezzanined structure in a classical Indian style. Splendor in terms of architecture, the temple looks like a palace and there is a koneru placed infront of the temple. The temple built way back before Rani Laxmi Bai's reign has witnessed to a number of historical events.
History
According to the legend, it is said that Rani Laxmi Bai used to pay a visit to this temple every Friday by a boat to worship Goddess Mahalaxmi. The temple was built in 1766 by Vishwas Rao Laxman was the Subedar of Jhansi after him Ragunath Rao Newalkar succeeded to the throne. He built the Mahalakshmi Temple in Jhansi.
