Architecture
Arulmigu Kasi Viswanathar Temple faces in East direction and has a 7 tier Rajagopuram. On the walls of the temple, beautiful figures of Nandi have been made in a row. On the north wall of the mandapam stucco images of Shiva’s dance as Natarajar & Urthuva thandavar on both sides of Shiva & Parvathi Kalyana kolam. On one of the Mandapam pillar statues of Nandhi, Sakaranarayanan, Sarabeswarar, Prithyangara devi, Yoga Narasimhar, Sanjeevirayar (Hanuman), Garudalwar, Kamakshi Amman and Artha Nareeswarar. There is a huge tank, Krishnappa Naicken Tank adjoining the temple covering an area of 1.5 acres.
Religious Significance
The God appeared in the dream of a Nayaka king after he worshipped him in Kasi and told him to build a temple for him. The temple was built in 1806 C.E. by Nayaka king of Vijayanagar Empire.
