Architecture
Sri Kurumurthy Swamy Temple name Kurupathi refers to three words in Telugu dialect, 'Kuru' means 'to do', 'Matim' referring to 'mind' and 'pati' meaning 'husband'. Hence this refers to the place where the Lord resides. This temple has a huge Gopuram and Dwaja Stambham has placed infront of the Grabha Gudi. This temple has two mandapams namely Uddala Mandapa and Alipiri Mandapam, this temple was constructed in Magnificent style of architectural.
Religious Significance
The existence of the temple on the hills is associated with the story of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi asking Lord Srinivasa to make his presence felt on the hills so the devotees are able to offer the prayers to the Almighty. So to please the Goddess, Lord manifested himself on the Kurupathi Hills.
History
Lord Srinivasa made his presence felt in the seven hills of Kurupathi i.e. Swethadri, Ekadri, Durgadri, Ghanadri, Ballukadri, Patagadri and at the last Daivatadri. Daivatadri is the place where the temple has been constructed. The story of the appearance of the Lord is very much similar to that in Tirumala Tirupathi. This temple was built in 1350 A.D. by Sri Mukkara Chandra Reddy and this temple was further renovated by Sri Ramabhupal and KothaKapulu in 1820.
