Lakshmi Chenna Kesava Swamy is the main deity for this temple, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Lord sports a moustache and holds the Chakra in his left hand and the Shankham in his right hand.

Goddess Lakshmi and Aandalmma are the consorts of Lord Vishnu, who is an incarnation of Goddess Sreedevi and Bhoodevi.

Architecture

Sri Lakshmi Chenna Kesava Temple sculpture of this temple exihibit’s the glorie of Hindavadharma and built in Indian style of architechture. The idol is made of Black granite and the Prabhavali is typically made of brass.

Mandapam : There is a beautiful mandapam in the middle of the modern structure the base of which has almost been covered leaving only a bunch of elephants in different poses running across it.

Pillars : The outer sanctum has 20 old pillars with 12 opposite the sanctum sanctorum. Around these pillars are kept the five beautiful and fairly new brass vahanas of Hamsa, Sesha, Garuda, Hanumantha and Ashwa.

The greatness of this temple was mentioned in Skandapuranam, Panditaradhya charitra and also in Vengayyakavis Ramarajiyam.

History

Lakshmi Chenna Kesava Swamy temple was built in 1042 A.D. by Sri Thrailokya Malla Someswarudu and the Chalukya King of Kalyani. This temple was renovated in 1063 A.D. and Western Chalukya Kings are the contributors for this temple.
