Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is the main deity of this temple, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Here Lord is facing in East direction, measures 5 feet in height and 3 inches. This deity consists of four hands, in which right hand has a Chakra and left hand is a Shankam.

Goddess

Adi Laxmi Devi is the consorts of Lord Vishnu, who is an incarnation of Goddess Sridevi.

Architecture

Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple is facing in East direction and has 3 tier Rajagopuram. In 1472 A.D., King Sadashivaraya of Vijanagara empire installed a big statue of Lord and built a majestic temple. At the foot, there is a tunnel and all theertha of Abhishekam goes to penna river and hence, there is no theertha here. Also by the side of this temple, is a temple of Udhbava Mahalakshmi ‘temple where Sri Maha Lakshmi is in Udhbava form (sprouting from the rock) & Sadashivaraya installed this idol. A cobra visits mother Maha Lakshmi regularly. There are many inscriptions on temple walls which refers to Chalukya King Kirtivarman-II, which dates to 8th – 16th centuries.

History

This temple is built in 1472 A.D. by Sadasivaraya of Vijayanagara empire. Chalukya king Kirtinandan and Vijayanagara Kings are the contributors for the temple.
