Architecture

Sri Maddileti Narasimha Swamy Temple has a 5 tier Rajagopuram, Dwaja Stambham is placed infornt of the Grabha Graha.

Religious Significance

Sri Kadiri Narasimha Swamy lost in dice board play with his wife. With the victory over the lord, Sri Lakshmi started teasing Swamy, for which Lord uneasy and left the place. While on his search for the stay at Yerramala, Nallamala Hills, he met the lord Sri Uma Maheswara Swamy at Yanganti and requested for a suggestion on his residence. On his request, Uma Maheswara Swamy guided him to the present temple location which is next to Maddileru canal.

Mokshapattanam which is 3 KM away from Maddileru canal was ruled by King Kanappa Dora. Kannappa Dora used to go for hunt on every saturday, while going around the forest he noticed a Monster Lizard glowing and in different color so ordered his staf to catch the Monster Lizard. Soldiers failed several trails and at last the lizard enterd in anthill called as Komali. Soldiers digged the anthill but the lizard is not found. King came back to kindom. On the same night, lord appeared in the dreams of the king and revealed that it is him who appeared as a Monster Lizard and entered the anthill. On knowing this, king along with Vedic pandits offered prayers to the god residing in the anthill. Lord pleased with their prayers and came out from the anthill as a 10 years old boy and disappeared after blessing them all.
