Religious Significance

Mallasura and his sibling played out a serious repentance extricated from Brahma and with a guarantee that they ought to never be hurt by any person, started to hassle the sages or rishis. The sages claimed Shiva to secure them, Shiva went up against another frame and bringing with him his powers of seven crores goravas, warred with Mallasura and his sibling Manikasura for 10 days. At that point, He slew them both with his bow. Amid the fight, Lord Veerabhadra, Shiva’s associate, hit the earth with his long hair and Kanchaveeras rose up out of the spot. The Kanchaveeras went up against Mallasura and Manikasura and gave them over to Mailara. In the wake of murdering Mallasura and Manikasura, Mailara (Shiva) wore their digestive organs as his turban, their teeth as a cowrie neckband, their mouths as a damaruga (hand drum), skulls as a doni (dinner bowl) and their skins as a long coat. The fat of the evil spirits was utilized as oil and their nerves the light wick.
