Interesting Facts
- There is a big brass bell hanging from the ceiling, which is rung by the priest himself after placing the `bali bhojanam' on the bali peetam for the crows to eat. Once the bell is rung, the crows come down to the bali peetam in an orderly way to partake it. It is indeed unique to this temple.

Dress Code
- For men the dress code is Shirt & Trouser, Dhoti or Pyjamas with upper cloth.
- For women the preferred dress code is saree or half-saree with blouse or chudidhar with pyjama and upper cloth.
- These rules are applicable for foreigners also. Shorts, mini-skirts, middies, sleeveless tops, low-waist jeans and short-length T-shirts are not allowed.
- Pilgrims/visitors will not be allowed inside the temple if dress code is not followed.

Architecture
Goddess Nimishamba is going to remove all the problems and troubles of her devotees within a minute. That is why she is called "Nimishamba". 'Nimisha' means a 'minute' and 'Amba' is the name of 'Parvathi'. Sri Nimishambha Temple is facing in East. The main entrance is through a 5 tier tall gopuram in sandal colour, which has many intricate carvings and statuettes on all sides. The gopuram conforms to Dravidian architecture and resembles the structure of most south Indian temples. On both sides of the doorway there are beautiful sculptures. There are no sukanasi and Navaranga in the temple compound. There is only a mukha mantapa, a massive bronze bell hanging above suspended from the ceiling of the mandapa.
Religious Significance
As per the instructions of Sri Sri Parameshwara decided to conduct Poundareeka Yaga by Sumanaska for the benefit of earth/world, as per he given the responsibilities of this yaga to Mukthaka Rushi who is real Shiva. This matter was came to the Knowledge of Sriman narada by Janu and Sumandalas and they decided to abolish and giving troubles to this Yaga and consulted with their Guru (Teacher) Shukracharya in this matter, The said Janu and Sumandalas sent their army along with their ministers namely Shoorabahu and Ghatodaras, Their army was abolished and breaked by Mukthaka in a second of time, This matter heard by the said Janu and Sumandalas become angry and they prepared to conduct war along with Mukthaka Rushi personally and the battle going on strongly, In this said war Mukthaka defeated by them. All the weapons held by Mukthaka was became no use and useless, The defeated person in the war Mukthaka prayed with the Parvathi, in a second of time the said Parvathi, came out from the Yagnakunda. The Janu and Sumandalas were able to get a blessings (Vara) from Brahma which well Known to the Parvathi that they taken this blessings from Brahma that their deaths were not be happened with any weapons and Parvathidevi killed them on her sixth sence and observed for completion of the Yaga, with this the said Mukthaka Rushi became very happy and he used the word of O Jaganmathe, Nimishambha, due to this Nimishambha name came to Parvathidevi.
History
This temple was built in 1578 - 1617 by Mummadi Krishanaraja Wadiyar, king of Mysore.
