Architecture
Goddess Vedi, present within the vicinity of the Kumbhalgarh Fort. Vedi temple is a Jain temple which has three storeys and was built in octagonal shape. Vedi Temple is also known as Devi Temple. This temple was built on 36 octangle shaped pillars and it has a dome at the top, added amazing beauty to the temple. Yellowish color of the temple is contrast to the earthly colored fort, makes it eye catching. People have to go to the temple through the stairs as it was built on a raised platform.
History
The Jain temple dates back to 1457 A.D., built between 1443 to 1448. The shrine was constructed by Rana Kumbha to honour the sacrifice of pilgrims visiting the area. Certain sections of the structure were renovated by Maha Rana Fateh Singh. It is of immense significance, as it remains to be the sole pilgrim sacrificial site present in India.
