Architecture

This region has gold excavated hence the name ‘Bangaru’ meaning ‘Gold’ and the temple has been modelled after the famous Venkateswara temple of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The murti of Bajaji is viewed through a small window and is called netra darshana. The idol faces towards the window instead of the door, just below the temple they have made one Garudha seems like carrying lord venkateshwara on his back. This temple is built upon a small hill and you have to take steps to reach at the top. It’s at the height of around 40 meters. As soon as we reach there, we will be greeted by Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s vehicle. The temple complex has a beautiful temple pond (pushkarani). A small tower at midle of Pushkarani with god and godess sculptures on it.

Religious Significance

The legend associated with the Bangaru Tirupathi temple suggests that the place of temple is where Bhrigu Rishi performed penance and intense austerities. Bhrigu Rishi had kicked Vishnu in anger and Goddess Lakshmi had left Vishnu for tolerating the insult of Bhrigu Rishi. Bhrigu Rishi who later repented his action performed austerities at Bangaru Tirupati. Srihari Vishnu is worshipped here as Ekanta Srinivasa – one without consort Lakshmi.

History

This Temple was developed improved by the Ex- Revenue Minister M.V.Krishnappa in the year 1963-64.
