Architecture
The deity was named "Sankat Mochan" meaning the "reliever from troubles". It is considered that the temple was built from the time when Goswami Tulsidas had a vision of the Hanuman. The temple was established by the great saint Goswami Tulsidas (the author of the Ramacharitamanas). The temple is facing in East direction, There is tall arch at entrance of the temple. The holy text was discovered in 1623 and has been in the temple since 1701. It is written in the Awadhi dialect which is part of the eastern Hindi language family.
Religious Significance
It is said that as soon as Tulsidas went to visit him to meet the leprosy patient, he went from there. Tulsidas also followed them. Upon reaching here, he thought that the forest has now come and i do not know where this person will go. In such a way, he grabbed his feet and said that you are Hanuman, please see me. After this, Bajrang Bali appeared to him and after insisting on his request, he came here with the form of soil, which is now known as Crisis Mukchan Mandir.
Legend has it, that Tulsidas, the author of 'Ram Charita Manas', the Hindi version of the 'Ramayan', originally written by Valmiki in late 1500 A.D., founded the temple after a vision of the Lord Hanuman at that spot.
