Architecture
Sri Lalitha Someswara Swamy Temple's Gopuram are really very beautiful and attractive with the images of different types of Hindu minor God's and Goddess. The floors and ceiling of the prayer main hall are decorated in an attractive manner. The pillars of the prayer hall is beautifully carved with images and saying from Hindu Mythology. The sub-temples within the temple complex are perfectly arranged in a systematic order as per the Hindu religious tradition and custom. It is built as per the South Indian, Chalukyan architectural styles and patterns. The temple complex is walled on four sides with a common entry and exist wide door with a tower. It is strongly believed that 12 Jyothirlingas were established in this temple.
Religious Significance
As per religious scholars, there are only 15 temples within India that houses Shiva Lingas where Karthika Pournarni and Shivarathri are celebrated with much fervor in a religious manner. On the other hand, the Pushkar Snanam which occurs once in 12 years during the Krishna Pushkararm is very auspicious. It is also an ideal picnic spot because of its beautiful surroundings. The primeval energy of the Creator is symbolized by the Shiva Linga. During the great deluge and at the end of all creation, all the different types of aspects of Lord are strongly believed to find a perfect resting place in the Shiva Linga.
