The temple is dedicated to Lord Surya Narayana. The idol of Surya Narayana was bought from Badrinath and it is 3.25 feet in height along with the Prabhavalli. Underneath the deity, you can see the idols of Kashyapa and Aditi.

Dress Code

  • For men the dress code is Shirt & Trouser, Dhoti or Pyjamas with upper cloth.

  • These rules are applicable for foreigners also. Shorts, mini-skirts, middies, sleeveless tops, low-waist jeans and short-length T-shirts are not allowed.
  • Pilgrims/visitors will not be allowed inside the temple if dress code is not followed.

Architecture

Shree Suryanarayan Swamy Temple in Domlur is one of the most beautiful modern temples in India. It is superbly constructed by expert artisans in the rich Chola temple architecture style. The magnificent idol of Suryanarayana was bought from Badrinath. Outside the sanctum sanctorum, you can see Vaishnavi, Brahma, Nagaraja, Ugranarasimha, Saraswathi, Panchamukhi Ganesha, besides Surya and a reclining Adi Sheshasayi, kindly showering their benevolence to the devotees below. There exists an amazing Udhbhava Huttha at the precincts, which was formed after the platform was constructed.

History

This place of worship was built by Shri Patel Krishna Reddy in 1995 and inaugurated by Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of Sree Siddaganga Mutt. The Surya Narayana Temple in Domlur is superbly constructed by expert and crafty artisan in Chola style.
