Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Matha is the main deity of this temple, who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. The Goddess Ujjain Mahankali sits in a Padmasana posture with four hands with Sword, Spear, Damaru, Vessel of Amrut is a beautiful stone idol. Sri Suriti Appaiah and his associates have installed the idol of Goddess here made of wood.

Architecture
Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple constructed in Dravidian style of architectural and the Garbhalaya Dwaram is covered by ornamental Silver Sheets. The temple complex has a well that is filled with holy water that is used as offering on the poojas and festive occasions. The temple's tower and walls are carved with epic stories of Hindu religion and this temple has idols of Gods and Goddess made of wood and special stones.
History
It is said that in those olden days this place was inhabited by trees, insects, rocks and lakes. There was a big well and when repairs were being carried out by digging an idol named “Manikyalamma” was found. The same idol can be seen today in the sanctorum of the temple towards Ujjaini Mahankali’s right side. This temple was built in 1813 A.D. by Sri Suriti Appaiah, Over years this simple temple got renovated to a grand one and the wooden idol of Goddess was replaced by the black stone statue in 1864.
