Architecture

Vengeeswarar Temple is an East facing temple. 7 tiered Rajagopuram on the Eastern side and a 3 tiered gopuram at the Western entrance. The temple has a Dhwaja Stambham and the Grabha Gudi is type of vimana Gajabrushta. The entrance of Ardha Mandapam has an idol of Ganesha and two mid-sized old Dwarapalas idols.

Religious Significance

Vengeeswarar Temple was 1000 years old and built by Sage Patanjali and Sage Vyagrapada. Sage Vyagrapadhar and his disciple Sage Pathanjali are believed to have stayed here for sometime and worshiped the Lord Vengeeswarar in Vadapalani.
