Architecture
The temple was constructed according to Dravidian style of architecture. The temple has two gopurams (towers) sculpted skillfully with tales and idols related to Lord Ganesha. The temple can be accessed from two sides i.e. from the south it leads to the presiding deity Sri Siddhi Vinayaka Swamy and from the east it leads to Sri Vishveshwara Swamy.
Religious Significance
According to the legends, it is said that the Daksha Prajapathi offered prayers to Lord Ganesha before Daksha Yagna at this place. It is also said that the Vyasa Maharshi installed a Ganapathi idol before starting his Yatra. It is believed that this deity exists from Krutayugam. In 14th Century A.D., Great Scholar Sankara Battu mentioned this temple in his Sanskrit Sri Pada Sri Vallabha Charitra 5th chapter. As mentioned in the Charita, the villagers performed a Sarva Ganapathi Maha Yagna in 1320 A.D. and Lord appeared in the Yagna fire and accepted the offerings. Lord told them that he will take birth as Sri Pada Srivallabha. In the same chapter, it was mentioned that three atheists commented Ganapati because which they took the birth with disabilities Dumb, Deaf and Blind. Later, these three discovered the Idol in the well while ploughing and got their actual forms. This place popular by the name Kanipakam Vinayaka.
