Religious Significance
According to history of this temple once many Saints, Sanaka and Sanandana etc, visited Lord Sri Maha Vishnu in Vaikuntham. They requested Lord to establish Dharma and save people in Kaliyuga. Then Sri Maha Vishnu promised that he will appear in a chandana box in Gowthami River. After many years people of Vadapalli found a chandana box in Holy Gowthami river. Then the villagers took a scared bath in river gowthami and brought the box out to shore. They found a beautiful chandana statue of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. Saint Narada established the temple after pratista “yagna”. The temple rituals are performed by Vaikanasa Brahmins and srinivasa Acharyas.
